From an early age his daughter Mary, whom he trained, demonstrated real talent as an artist winning her first Society of Arts medal for a still life aged fourteen. She became a regular exhibitor in this genre and her ambition as a professional artist led to her becoming a founding member of the Royal Academy at the age of forty-two. In 1792 Moser garnered a lucrative royal commission, to decorate a room in Frogmore House, about a half a mile south of Windsor Castle in Home Park. Her works can be found in the Royal Academy London and a portrait of her by George Romney can be found in the National Portrait Gallery, London (NPG 6641).
