  • Eoin Llewellyn was born in Dublin, Ireland in 1973 and currently works between Ireland and Berlin, Germany. His works have received wide acclaim in Ireland and internationally and have been shortlisted for numerous prizes including The AIB and Victor Treacy awards. Llewellyn also won The Taylor Art award and the Tony O’ Malley award, among others. In 2011, Llewellyn was awarded the Whyte's Award for painting at the RHA, and was shortlisted for the Golden Fleece Award, both in Ireland. In 2012, Llewellyn was nominated for the The Future Generation Art Prize established by the Victor Pinchuk Foundation by Kunstlerhaus Bethanien,Berlin.

His practice encompasses mask making, puppets, props and costumes for theatre as well as 3D wall pieces. He has won several awards for his work including Young Designers of the Year Award, Dublin (1986), Kilkenny Arts Week. Best of Fringe (1992) and Claremorris Open, First Prize (1994). His first solo show since 1998 - entitled 'Wag Tail Water Fall' - took place in February 2016 at the Clonmel library, Tipperary.

Born in Carlisle, he attended Carlisle School of Art under Herbert Lees & moved on to a post as designer in Hudson Scott & Sons (later the Metal Box Company). Not content with his position he continued his art education at Glasgow School of Art. After graduation he lived in Edinburgh where he earned a living from book illustration. On moving to London he became part of an artistic circle which included Frank Brangwyn with whom he became close friends. He made a reputation for portraits of celebrities of the time including Bernard Shaw & Brangwyn.
