  • Charming collection of diminutive watercolours of landscapes of North Wales executed by Lady Maria Louisa Fitzroy daughter of Henry Fitzroy, 5th Duke of Grafton, circa 1856-1869 when she was married she to Edward Gordon Douglas-Pennant, Baron of Penryhn Castle Carnorvonshire. The Graftons held large land holdings in Dublin. Both Grafton and Duke Streets are named after the first Duke of Grafton. The watercolours range in size from approximately 30 by 60cms to 100 by 1200cms; each delicately and expertly crafted.

  • Framed and mounted uniformly. Dimensions of second work, 12 by 9ins. Patrick O'Connor was a brother of the artist, Roderic O'Connor. The brothers held an exhibition of paintings at Daniel Egan's Gallery, 38 St. Stephen's Green, Dublin, in 1932 and had previously exhibited together in Jack Seligman's Gallery Paris. Patrick O'Connor exhibited at the New York World's Fair, 1939. He contributed four works to the Royal Hibernian Academy Dublin 'Dear Stalker' and 'Andrew O'Connor', and two unnamed portraits. In 1941 he presented an oil painting of his father to the Municipal Gallery of Modern Art Dublin, a work which was included in the 1974 exhibition, The Irish: 1870-1970', at the National Gallery of Ireland. Seamus Bourke's book 'Patrick O'Connor', 'Painter of Portraits' published in 1941 referred to O'Connors’ portraits as having "the fire of truth, he excels in getting the likeness, the expression or the grace of an attitude...His realism is strong and direct..." In 1966 there was an exhibition at the Little Theatre, Brown Thomas, Dublin, which included O'Connor's paintings, drawings and sculpture. By 1963 Patrick O'Connor had lived variously in London and Dublin before settling in Palm Beach Florida, near his brother Roderic. He died in Florida in 1997.

  • Michael McGuinness Studied at Slade School of Fine Art, London 1977 - 79. McGuinness then became a lecturer, first in the National College of Art & Design, Dublin from 1979 to 1980 then moving to Belfast where he taught at the University of Ulster before taking up a part time teaching post in London in 1989. His work is figurative and landscape-based, much of it based upon visits to the Limavady and Portstewart area but also influenced by visits to Italy, France and Holland. Solo exhibitions have included One Oxford Street Gallery, Belfast, Flowerfield Arts Centre, Portstewart and Gallery 47, London. His work has also been shown at the Whitechapel Open Exhibition, London, the William Morris Gallery, London and the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition.

    Pierce Hackett is a Dublin born artist who practiced as a Chartered Surveyor until 1994 before taking up painting full-time. He studied drawing under Leon Underwood at Lime Grove in London and at St. Martin’s and since the late 1990s has participated in numerous groups shows throughout Ireland and in London as well as several solo exhibitions Dublin and the midlands. Hackett is greatly influenced by landscape and his depictions of Irish and Spanish terrain are testament to his passion. His work can be found in public and private collections in Ireland, the UK, Europe and America.
