Ansel Adams
Anselm Adams was an American photographer, known for his black and white images of the American West. He was a founding member of Group f/64, photographers who favoured a wide depth of field giving sharp focus to a large subject matter, such as landscape. www.whytes.ie They defined this style in opposition to the earlier pictorialism. Images of the American West were very popular during the great depression as it symbolised hope for the future in terms of large public works projects. www.whytes.ie
