Hugh Douglas Hamilton
During the late 1750s, Hamilton commenced practice as a portrait painter in crayons. His little portraits were full of expression and charm, being faithful likenesses of his sitters. These portraits were ovals and measured about 9.5 by 7.5 inches in size. www.whytes.ie
