Joseph Sloan
Joseph Sloan was born in Warrenpoint, Co. Down. He worked initially in the theatre, before taking up art with the encouragement of the Liverppol sculptor Brian Burgess.Sloan has worked in sculpture and book illustration, sculpture pimarily in the medium of bronze. He has had one and two man shows with the Kilcock Gallery and James Gallery, Dublin, Grant Fine Art, Newcastle and the Barbara Stanley Gallery, London. He exhibits regularly at the RHA and various arts festivals such as the Kilkenny Festival, where he was named best sculptor in 1990. His works have been included in the collections of the Dublin City Gallery the Hugh Lane, OPW, AIB, Bank of Ireland, Ulster Television and many others.
