Samuel Fenton

Samuel Fenton exhibited frequently at the Royal Academy between 1943 and 1980 and was the winner of the Singer and Friedlander Prize in 1989. Although born in London he moved to Brighton in 1948. He was almost entirely self taught and began his career painting traditional landscapes but his subject matter gradually transformed into the fantastic and surreal compositions for which he is best known. www.whytes.ie
