Alfred Charles Conrade
Conrade is listed in the Dictionary of British Artist's 1880-1940, p.118 and is recorded as a “painter and modeller,” exhibiting between 1911-33. Conrade is perhaps best known for his architectural works and has a particular style which demonstrated extensive use of pencil beneath the image. Although born in Leeds, Conrade studied abroad in academies in Düsseldorf, Paris and Madrid later travelling widely in Europe and Asia. He was chief artist at White City (1911-14), the location for the substantial Franco-British exhibition in 1908 and the London Olympic games of the same year.
