Diana Copperwhite
Diana Copperwhite was born in Limerick, the daughter of marine artist Patrick Copperwhite. She studied at Limerick School of Art and Design, NCAD, Dublin, and Winchester School of Art and Design, Barcelona. Now based in Dublin and New York. In 2007 she was the recipient of the AIB Art Award. She has had solo exhibitions with the Temple Bar Galleries (1996), Belltable Arts Centre in Limerick (1997), the Rubicon Gallery (1998), Kevin Kavanagh Gallery, (2005 and 2006), and Limerick City Gallery of Art (2007). Her work is broadly concerned with memory, often incorporating images taken from the news media, and using layers of paint to semi-obliterate the subject. www.whytes.ie
