Fanny Wilmot Currey
Fanny Currey was one of the founder members of the Irish Amateur Drawing Society, which later became WCSI. She was the daughter of Francis Edmund Currey, agent to the Duke of Devonshire and resident in Lismore Castle, Co. Waterford. Among her friends were Helen OHara, the watercolourist, and the well-known authors Somerville and Ross. Aside from an extensive exhibiting career, she was also a published author and a passionate gardener. See Snoddy, pp. 122-123. www.whytes.ie
