Imogen Stuart
Born in Berlin, Imogen Stewart (neι Werner) grew up during wartime. She studied under sculptor Otto Hitzberger from 1945. She met fellow student Ian Stuart, a grandson of Maud Gonne, in 1948 and the two were married. They moved to Ireland and settled at Laragh Castle near Glendalough. whytes.ie Stuart has worked in multiple sculptural media including bronze, stone and clay completing commisions for religious institutions, political figures and Irish cultural institutions. She was elected a Saoi of Aosdαna in 2015.
