James English
Born in Naul, Co. Dublin, James English worked in horse racing before studying at the NCAD, Dublin. He began exhibiting in the Tattan Gallery Malahide in the 1970s. He exhibits most years at the RHA and in 2005 became a member. www.whytes.ie Englishs paintings are photo-realist in style, often displaying a soft-focus finish, with an emphasis on novelty of composition. His works are in the collections of former President Mary Robinson, Allied Irish Banks, National Irish Bank, Jefferson Smurfit Group, Office of Public Works (including Leinster House) and The National Library.
