Richard John Corballis

Corballis was an amateur artist, poet, and antiquarian - a life member of the RDS and an active member of the RSAI. He was born on the 2nd of May 1831 at 58 Upper Mount Street, Dublin, the eldest son of solicitor John Richard Corballis and his wife Jane Eleanor. Upon his father’s death in 1847, Richard moved to Rosemount, Windy Arbour, Donnybrook, which was to be his home for the rest of his life. He died on the 2nd of September 1931 and was buried in the family vault in the Pro Cathedral, Marlborough Street. www.whytes.ie
