Veronica Bolay
Veronica Bolay was born in Hamburgin the midst of the Second World War and studied there at the National College of Art and Design, 1958-1963 as well as group therapy at Aachen University. She moved to Ireland with her husband Peter Jankowsky in 1971 and rapidly established herself holding regular solo exhibitions with the Lincoln Gallery in Dublin and participating in numerous group shows such as the Oireachtas, Independent Artists, EV+A in Limerick and the RHA. In a review of the exhibition ‘Seán McSweeney and Friends’ at the Boyle Arts Festival, 2001, Aidan Dunne observed that her pastel landscapes were often “charged with a sense of epiphany”. She exhibited with the Rubicon Gallery, Dublin, the Vangard Gallery, Macroom, Co. Cork and Paul Kane gallery, Dublin. She was a member of the RHA and Aosdána.
