Walter Chetwood Aiken
Walter Chetwood Aiken worked in Paris and Bristol and died prematurely at the age of thirty-three. His works can be found in the collection of Bristol City Art Gallery but rarely come up at auction. His most celebrated work, a Breton scene, was in the Brian P. Burns Collection. His work was exhibited with an important exhibition entitled, ‘America’s Eye: Irish Paintings from the Collection of Brian P. Burns’, 26 January to 19 May, 1996 at the Boston College Museum of Art and later from 19 June to 25 August, 1996 at the Hugh Lane Gallery, Dublin. www.whytes.ie
