William Sidney Cooper

William Sidney Cooper was a painter of landscapes in both oil and watercolour, typically depicting a rural subject matter with the inclusion of sheep and cattle. Cooper exhibited regularly at the Royal Academy and Suffolk Street between 1871 and 1908 with titles including, Springtime, Isle of Wight, 1881. www.whytes.ie Certain literature records William Sidney Cooper as the second son of Thomas Sidney Cooper RA, and although their styles and subject matter do bear similarity, their family ties have not been confirmed. An example of William Sidney Cooper's work can be found in the Reading Museum, Berkshire. www.whytes.ie
